Temporary no new registrations

Due to some problems with some software we’ve decided to not add to the problem by letting new users register blogs for a few days. We’re upgrading the software hopefully this week and that would sort the problems out, however it might take some more time so we just want to inform you guys.

Bah! Finally a bit more stable

We’ve had a lot of stability issues lately. We’re really sorry about that!

Now most of them should be fixed. In order to actually make it more stable we moved all the servers to another data centre and we’ve been fixing with the software and hardware to make it less unstable. We have some days ahead of tweaking, and since a couple of the team are doing an art performance, we can’t be sure that we’ll sort everything out right out. But we are working on it. For real. And thanks for sticking with us.

Outage

We had a small failure on one of the webservers at the same time as a backup webserver was down. This should now be fixed and we hope that it wasn’t a really big problem for all of you.

We’ll be back with more information. We’re always working on improving the system and after a small vacation for a week now (finally! First time in years) we’re gonna add new features to the site.

Some news - for those of you that missed it, we actually don’t censor comments, we just approve them after going through them. There was a lot of spam when we launched so we just didn’t want to get a spammed blog.

Second - we removed the stats-tool. It didn’t function as it should in a site that got so many visitors (we have over 10.000 blogs already!) and we decided to disable it for a short while. We’re looking for a replacement tool or might build one ourselves.

The site should be somewhat stable now. We’ve updated a lot of stuff and tweaked the database to cope with the load. We’ve also took in the idea of opening a forum that someone asked for. You can find it at SuprBay.org!

We must also point out the thing regarding what’s legal and not in Sweden. We honestly can’t help you guys out with legal advice on that level. We’re just some few guys and none of us are lawyers for gods sake. Follow common sense and you’ll be fine. And hopefully someone will translate the full swedish lawbook into english someday.

Baywords Opens

We’re proud to present a new service - baywords.com. Because of the need of freedom of speech and secure hosting facility of the words being said we could not agree to how people behave towards bloggers.

Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it.

We will update the blogging system all the time to add new features and themes. If you need to contact us, you can do so here.

We decided that although the system is quite minimalistic right now, the most important thing was to get it up and running. So stay tuned for updates and please blog your heart out. Your ideas and your thoughts are the most important ones.

(Upcoming stuff: We will add support for your own domain hopefully. Captcha system will be installed. Stats will be better. Ads will be added, sorry about that but we’ll keep them as usual to a minimum.)
